Kenku are birdlike creatures that communicate in a series of chirps, whistles, and learned phrases. They tend to live on the outskirts of settlements, and often resort to thievery to survive. Kenku who don’t thieve often make a living as scrap merchants, junk sellers, and as scavengers.

Kenku are far from uniformly evil, in fact most are simply struggling to survive in a world where communication is extremely difficult.

Some noble courts employ Kenku as singers, entertainers, servants, or as Raftermen.

Raftermen are so called for their tendency to stay high in a structure, maintaining a good vantage point. Raftermen are employed as a kind of supplemental security force.
